Your Experience With Life Is What You Choose

· Goals,Success,purpose,Personal Development,planning

For some people waking up everyday means your back is always against the wall and everyone is against you. For others it means that you have another day to be thankful and show gratitude.

Sure... we all know that life is not easy and filled with adversity and challenges. But have you ever stop to wonder why it affects us differently? Meaning how we deal with life in different ways?

Stress and depression is real which is proven by the staggering numbers just in America alone. Major Depressive Disorder is the leading cuase of disability in the U.S. for ages 15 to 44.3. It affects more than 16.1 million American adults, or about 6.7% of the U.S. population age 18 and older in a given year.

Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be. - Eleanor Roosevelt

While there are many cases that requires professional treatment, there are a large number of these cases that are self-induced.

Often we feel so obligated to pay attention and respond to so much negativity. Here's a quick observation.... next time a political post shows up on your wall, read the comments.

The thread will be filled with people arguing back and forth, raising their blood pressure just to hit "send" to let their words be read (not heard) with complete strangers the will never meet. The thread will go on for days.

Then they run off to share the exchange with their friends and family who then run to the post to sound off as well increasing the length of the post. All of this contributing to days worth of wasted time.

But these same people will say they don't have enough hours in a day (go figure).

When you step back from all of this, life is not really all that bad. We add more mental stress to our minds than we really need to.

Daily you should practice avoiding as many stressful confrontations and distractions as possible. This will make room for more of the serious "life battles" we all have to face.

Avoid Being a Stress Consumer

There's another group of people that feel they have to take on everything the world is dealing with. They feel they MUST be involved in all the issues.

Major political news breaks, a racial issue (likely never happened to them personally) or the trending topic of the day.

Their only goal is to ensure throughout the day they craft the perfect post or share one of many posts to get their thoughts out in the social media universe. Why is that the first reaction?

Not realizing they are consuming so much unncecessary stress that it's impacting the outlook of their day. And doing that daily impacts your life especially.

Here's the truth. We all only get 24 hours in a day. We all will have adversity and challenges in life. We all will have the temptations that social media brings along with other distractions.

It's how well you manage and make the best of your life daily that will dictate your overall experience. We will have bad experiences in our relationships, our jobs and with complete strangers. It's life... it is what it is.

But wasting time trying to change the normal occurrence of life instead of focusing on how well you manage it is a losing strategy. Make the shift today, and create the best experience out of life.
